YELLOW RENTAL APARTMENTS, Santa Maria, Sal Island, Cape Verde

At most about 500 yards from a white sandy beach, this apartment for rent is in a block to the north of Black Point Apartments and to the north of May o Leary's Pub. It is in a fairly empty part of Santa Maria and would suit those on a long term rental or those seeking more budget type accommodation. 15 minutes transfer from international aiport.

General

The apartment is on the first and second floors, with a double bedroom, bathroom and sitting room on the first floor, sitting room with kitchen area, and two balconies. On the second floor there is a mezzanine area directly at the tope of the stairs, and a large double bedroom.

Gas hob with four rings, fridge. Equipped with cutlery, toaster, dustpan and brush.

Sleeps up to 6

Bedroom 1, decent size about 20' x 12' with tall cupboard, 2 bedside tables and chair. There is no door between this bedroom and the mezzanine area at the top of the stairs which has a tall cuplboard, a table and futon which could sleep two. On the first floor, there is a double bedroom with two single beds, bedside tables, and two chests of drawers. The bathroom has a shower, WC and basin, and is tiled.

General

Sheets and towels are provided, depending on the number of people staying. There is a maid service once a week when the sheets and towels are changed, and the apartment cleaned at the end (apart from the kitchen area which must be left perfect by you for the next guests). If you would like the linen to be changed more often, there is a supplement payable locally. Bring your own beach towels. There is a returnable deposit of 150 euros to pay upon arrival. Let us know when you book whether you want the beds to be made up as doubles or twins.

Things to do in Sal

Windsurfing. The beach where Josh Angullo (wave windsurfing champion) operates from is within 500 yards of these apartments. In Santa Maria you can go kite surfing, sailing, game fishing, surfing, diving within 10 minutes. Visit the Old Salt mines at Pedra de Lume. Take a 4x4 out for a day and discover even more remote beaches. Flag down an aluguier (minibus) and go to Espargos, Murdeira or Palmeira - get a taste of the local charm and music.
