Save money and do two little beach dogs a good turn

Wanted - caring people to look out for 2 lovely beach dogs. Niki and Jet were born around June 2011. They both have white socks, white tail ends and are a typical Cape Verde mixture - making a rather lovely breed. We would think this, as we rescued their brother Brando in 2011. They have so many of his mannerisms.

We looked after Niki and Jet from November to mid January 2012. Someone in Europe has kindly offered to give a home to the dogs, but we need to get them through all their paperwork and this will take some time - at least until mid June 2012.

Niki and Jet live outdoors, and are miraculously house-trained. They can both sit, respond to a clicker, lie down, come back when a whistle is blown (nearly always), and Niki naturally heels. They are both very affectionate. Neither likes swimming despite liking to sleep on the sand. They love going out in our car. Niki likes to jump into the car whenever we do - and Jet someones beats here to it. They have both had their rabies injections, a rabies blood test, and treatment for fleas/ticks/worms.

We have fed them dry dog food twice a day. If you can give them a meal, even once a day, and put out plenty of fresh water, and leave the gate open, that will help keep these two lovely girls alive until such time as they can leave the island. Unfortunately, there are no kennels, so this is our way of improvising. In return, you will get love, affection, two wonderful guard dogs, and fun companions for your stay in Sal.

People looking after Jet and Niki have found these two dogs to be charming. "I miss Jet and Niki so much", says I. "I was so sad to say good bye to them, they both knew we were leaving" says C. "We had a great time staying in your villa, and the dogs were a pleasure to look after" M
