Comments
For those wishing to visit the capital of the Cape Verde Islands,
this hotel offers the advantages of being in a better district (the
president lives close by), yet with easy access to the bustle. The
hotel is on a headland, with the sea on one side. It is popular
with guests. The hotels in central Praia have not been developed
as tourist hotels, and if you want to be near the sea you will need
to be outside the central district. There is a sandy beach within
a few hundred yards, which is used by the locals. It does not have any facilities. If you want to
spend time on the beach, take a day trip to Tarrafal, consider
staying there, or think about another island. Primarily, our guests come here in order to have
a stop-over in Santiago on their way to Maio, or for a property
inspection trip. There are business facilties on hand, such as conference
rooms and internet and the Hotel Praiamar is within reach of the
major planned developments such as Sambala (see photo on right,
taken December 2006) and properties for sale on Santiago.
Guest comments
Big, modern, sprawling hotel with all the usual facilities you
would expect. H from Lake District.
The best hotel in the Cape Verdes. A from Berkshire.
Pleasantly surprised, it was much better than I'd imagined, and
well situated by the sea. We got in later from a flight and it was
good to find a drink and a snack within the hotel. And a bonus to
be outdoors, listening to the sound of the sea lapping below. C
from London.
