Comments
The hotel is a real beach hotel, with views of the ocean, and al-fresco
dining, near to the swimming pool. With Italian ownership and Cape
Verdean management, service is amongst the best in the Cape Verdes.
For those that want to get away from it all on miles and miles of
sandy beach, this is the place, but take a book, there is not much
to do. Windsurfing, diving etc is available at Sal Rei and the hotel
organises shuttle buses - one in morning, returning at lunchtime
and one in evening for those wishing to dine out. For very keen
water sports enthusiasts, you might find it more convenient to stay
in Sal Rei. Guests come from Italy and Germany in the main, with
the British just beginning to discover it. Rooms are quite basic,
more like beach huts, so it's the simple life, but with some style.
In July, other guests were delighted to find tracks on the beach
of turtles coming in to lay their eggs, and to be able to photograph
the spot where the eggs were laid - just opposite the hotel.
Guest comments
Had a lovely time there at the Parque das Dunas, made really good
friends with Agostinho the Manager, he's a great lad. G from Ilfracombe.
As we entered the hotel, the reception staff had our key waiting
for us. Compared to the hotel next door, this was paradise. The
location is wonderful, and a very pleasant get-away-from-it-all
place to stay. The sea swimming was a treat. C from London
What can I say about the beaches ecxept that everything in the guides is true. D from Wiltshire
