Seaview frontline villa with 3 beds, 2 baths, in Murdeira, Sal, Cape Verde. Large reception room, large ocean facing roof terrace, 2 balconies and patio. Spacious interior space within a gated resort. 200 yards from swimming pool, restaurant, bar, grocery store. Less than 100 yards from ocean. Wonderful seaviews. Possbility of breakfast, lunch and dinner in resort restaurant, if you don't wish to cook. Quiet. 10 mins airport transfer.

This villa is in the Murdeira Beach Resort, the only resort of its type to be completed in the Cape Verdes. Approx 250 yards from the resort's 31m pool, it is close, but out of earshot. In the front line, it looks directly out onto the turquoise Murdeira Bay and onto Monte Leon, Cape Verde's mini rock of Gibraltar, and there are ocean views from most of the rooms and outside spaces. There are private villas to either side. By having many windows on several sides and high ceilings, this rental villa is very light, bright and spacious with lots of outdoor space. It suits those that like to get away from it all, without being away from it all. If you like to hear the sound of the ocean by day and night, even from your bed, this will appeal. The bay is undeveloped, to either side of the resort. It is an unique opportunity for guests to enjoy long beachside walks and swims, or to star gaze. Outside there are various tropical flowers and there are several Murdeira beaches to choose from; the closest is about 150m. We have named it Voodoo Villa because of the many exotic masks and other ornaments that the owner has decorated it with from his many travels around the world.

Bedrooms - 3

Three double bedrooms. On the first floor is the principal bedroom with its own private bathroom with shower, WC, basin . There is a balcony to the east, and to the west there is a walkway leading to the front balcony and roof terrace through which you get wonderful seaviews. On the ground floor there are two double bedrooms and shower room. The beds can be made up into singles or king size doubles - they are made up with two German mattresses offering flexibility.

Bathrooms - 2

One on ground floor, next to bedrooms and living room. One adjoining principal bedroom on first floor. Outside shower and basin - very useful for removing sand from the beach and preparing freshly caught fish.

Kitchen - no need to use it if you don't want to cook

4 ring gas hob, gas oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, crockery, cutlery. It is arranged at the end of the sitting room. If you don't feel like cooking, you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner at the resort's oceanside restaurant.

Dining/living

There's seating for four at a round table in the large open plan reception room. The seating area is near the window by the front patio, with a 3 seater sofa and two single chairs. With two French windows, and the door to the roof terrace on the first floor, the room is very light and airy.

Outside

Large patio and terrace facing west on ground level. Part is shaded with ocean views. Huge roof terrace with ocean views, with 3 walls. Outside shower and sink. Washing line on first floor rear balconies. Garden table and 4 chairs. 2 chaise longues in wood, 2 folding deck chairs.

General

Sheets, towels, pillowcases, are provided. Central heating is not needed as the climate is warm all year round. These villas have been specifically designed for the tropics with very high ceilings and good air flow. There is airconditioning in 3 bedrooms.

Changeover days

Under review. Rentals run from 1500 to 1000.

Cable television with remote control. DVD player and CD player.

Suitability

Children over 5 welcome, suitable for elderly.

Comments

The resort is well established with water, generators, roads, security and infrastructure. In case of power cuts, the generators should kick in within minutes.

We had a wonderful time, the villa was very well equipped, comfortable and spotless, B was absolutely wonderful and had put butter, jam and water in the fridge for our arrival. The maid came midweek and cleaned the house very thorougly. We loved Cape Verde although had the initial reaction that everyone else has, we loved the beaches, walks and tranquility - everyone has been telling me that I am glowing since I got back. The snorkelling was also excellent, we spent hours looking at the marine life which was the best we had seen anywhere. K from London
