Despite having visited Boavista on several occasions, hiring a car meant we got to all sorts of different spots exactly as and when we wanted. It speeded up trips into Sal Rei from our all inclusive hotel. We discovered many new parts of the island. The remote beaches and spots we stopped for picnics and swims could only be reached by 4 x 4.
