HOTEL BELA VISTA, Maio

Right next to a beach in Maio, with dunes. 2 Km from airport (free pick up by hotel), and 5 Km from the capital, Vila do Maio. The hotel is on perhaps the quietest of the inhabited Cape Verde islands, with beautiful sandy beaches.

Rooms

24 semi detached bungalows. Each bungalow has 2 double bedrooms, bathroom, sitting room, terrace looking over the beach, with patio furniture. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, air conditioning, minibar. Bungalows can accommodate 4 people. You don't have to have 4 people to stay, and the pricing is based on occupancy.

Dining

Possibility of full and half board. The restaurant serves a la carte, with a lot of fresh fish and seafood such as lobsters. There is also meat and chicken.

Comments

This is where to go to get away from it all. On the island there are cows, pigs, donkeys, hens, goats and dogs. Lots of birds, fish, turtles and crabs. Take what you need with you, there is not much to buy on the island, pack your suncream, sunhat, books, camera batteries before you set out. The owner of the hotel is Spanish and the service is very personal. The hotel is available as part of a multi-island package, or you can book accommodation only through us.

The Bela Vista was very good, it was completely empty apart from the chalet next to us. We had a meal in the hotel and it was so large, they kindly kept it for us and we had some the next day. M from Kent.
