As the airport in Maio is closed, we can only offer this hotel as accommodation only. We do not provide ferry tickets to Maio from Santiago.

Double rooms and 2 suites with bathroom with shower. High ceilings.

Dining

Breakfast is served on the ground floor. No other meals were being served when we visited the hotel, due to a kitchen closure. There are restaurants and bars where you can eat in the town, such as Tutti Frutti (run by Italians) and Atlantida@ which is near the post office.

Comments

Maio is one of those places to go to get away from it all. On the island there are cows, pigs, donkeys, hens, goats, frolicking kids (small goats) cockatoos, cockerels and dogs. Lots of birds, fish, turtles and crabs. We even met some bullocks on one of the beaches. Take what you need with you, there is not much to buy on the island, pack your suncream, sunhat, books, camera batteries before you set out.

We enjoyed our stay at the Marilu, and Vila da Maio was a charming small quiet town, with a glorious white sandy beach and sea that was wonderful to swim in. The hotel is not suitable for those that have difficulty walking, as it is a climb up to the hotel back from the beach. C from London

Maio was absolutely beautiful and the beaches to die for. The town was very quiet but we found ourselves a nice little internet cafe with an Italian owner called Paolo. The hotel was very basic and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. D from Wiltshire.
